Size Theory and Shape Matching: A Survey
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper investigates current research on size theory. The research reviewed in this paper includes studies on 1-D size theory, multidimensional size theory and their applications to shape matching. This survey will also address the connections between the size theoretical approach and other approaches to shape matching.

Using matching distance in size theory: A survey
In this survey we illustrate how the matching distance between reduced size functions can be applied for shape comparison. We assume that each shape can be thought of as a compact connected manifold with a real continuous function defined on it, that is a pair (M, φ : M → R), called size pair. In some sense, the function φ focuses on the properties and the invariance of the problem at hand. In ...
متن کاملA new algorithm for computing the 2-dimensional matching distance between size functions
Size Theory has proven to be a useful geometrical/topological approach to shape analysis and comparison. Originally introduced by considering 1-dimensional properties of shapes, described by means of real-valued functions, it has been subsequently generalized to take into account multidimensional properties coded by functions valued in Rk. In the context of Size Theory, this generalization has ...
متن کاملInstrument dependency of Kubelka-Munk theory in computer color matching
Different industries are usually faced with computer color matching as an important problem. The most famous formula which is commonly used for recipe prediction is based on Kubelka-Munk K-M theory. Considering that spectrophotometer’s geometry and its situation influence the measured spectral values, the performance of this method can be affected by the instrument. In the present study, three ...
متن کاملDeformable models in medical image analysis: a survey
This article surveys deformable models, a promising and vigorously researched computer-assisted medical image analysis technique. Among model-based techniques, deformable models offer a unique and powerful approach to image analysis that combines geometry, physics and approximation theory. They have proven to be effective in segmenting, matching and tracking anatomic structures by exploiting (b...
متن کاملFast Least Square Matching
Least square matching (LSM) is one of the most accurate image matching methods in photogrammetry and remote sensing. The main disadvantage of the LSM is its high computational complexity due to large size of observation equations. To address this problem, in this paper a novel method, called fast least square matching (FLSM) is being presented. The main idea of the proposed FLSM is decreasing t...
